Sunday, May 27 from 09:30 am to 17:30 pm our office will be open to the public for tastings and direct sales with the opportunity to visit the cellar of aging in new oak barrels. On this occasion, as well as taste our best wines of Montepulciano, you can also taste the wines produced in Magliano in Toscana (GR).

Grignolino, Piedmont’s hidden treasure

I don’t know how it happened, but somehow I ended up walking out of a Bologna wine shop with a bottle of grignolino in my hand. I hadn’t a clue what it was. Looking back, it’s pretty astonishing that this rare Piedmont varietal found its way into that wine shop in the first place, 200 miles from home. The history of Italian wine has ancient origins. Already the Greeks called Italy "Oenotria," land of wine. Many areas were planted with vines in Roman times and have resulted in wines that exist today. Others are known since the Middle Ages. The wines from these historic areas, which have become DOC ("DOC") and DOCG ("Controlled and Guaranteed Denomination of Origin"), took the title of Classic wines. The main wines that can boast the title "CLASSIC" are Soave, Chianti, Orvieto, and the Valpolicella Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi.
